Most are familiar with Dietrich Bonhoeffer's famous quote from The Cost of Discipleship - "When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die."

Here's more ... "The cross is not the terrible end to an otherwise God-fearing and happy life, but it meets us at the beginning of our communion with Christ. When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die...who has the right to say that he is justified by grace alone is the man who has left all to follow Christ."
