The water line in the toilet tank is simple redirected up the faucet. After the flush, the water flows through that, through the catch bowl, and down to the tank. The standard shut-off will eventually stop the flow of water so if some is diverted for a drink, no problem.

i am working on my very own right now. let me get this straight...do you run the water line in from the tank or before it gets to the tank?
