In continuation of my theme that God is more than a God of written words, here is His Written Word (Isa 41.13)
For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”

I am a lame assed kind of Christian....by most people's standards anyway.
I've only memorized two scripture verses. The one you posted on your blog (Isa 41:13) and one from Psalm 141, "Set a guard over my mouth O Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips."
Seems to me, it's not how many verses a person memorizes that's important, but how many a person is actually willing to live.
Let's see, I'm living life and holding hands with a God who helps me guard my tongue....
That's not such a bad way to live, now is it? I suppose I could throw a little more loving in the mix too...but even that's easier to accomplish when one is led by God and knows when to speak and when to listen.
And yes, the Bible is all about involving us in God. I no longer read the Bible like a text book. I see it more as God's invitation to enter into His own story. A story of relentless love, forgiveness, redemption and so, so much more.
