ask the holy spirit

Nathan Busenitz is off to a good start in answering the Charismatic question. He rightly reminds us that the place to start is with the Holy Spirit Himself and where does the Spirit speak about Himself in an objective way, none other than in Scripture. So we are aligned that we should not be using our perceptions or misperceptions of history and personal experiences to drive this discussion but rather Scripture and Scripture alone.
Thus, when we go to the Word of God for our instruction on this subject, we are going to the Spirit Himself, since He is the One who has inspired every word of this wonderful and all-sufficient revelation from God. In other words, when we look to the Scriptures regarding the work of the Holy Spirit, we are in essence asking the Spirit about Himself.
