need for vision

"The most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight but has no vision." - Helen Keller

Today Matt Massey began a teaching series on vision using Lk 18.35-43 as the springboard. The man was healed. When he was able to see he saw jesus clearly and followed Him, glorifying God. And the people, seeing this, did the same! True sight begets sight.

Do we have a clear vision? Are our eyes opened by the power of the Spirit and are we focused on the living Christ?

On a personal note, last week we did some trash pick-up at one of the low income housing areas. We are starting to make a change; one family came out to help. This past Saturday was at the homeless shelter. Barb and I are starting to feel more comfortable sitting down with "the marginalized" and strangers to interact and share life with them.
