- Be aware that this world's systems are under Satan's control
- Be aware that Jesus Christ came to change all of Satan's plans
According to Luke, chapter 4, Jesus began this when He proclaimed, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."
Acts 10.38 - God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
And Christ is now in a place of absolute authority (Ep 1.20-21; 1 Tim 6.15).
And this is why we now pray Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven! We live between the already not yet. We live between the cross' victory over sin and Satan and the coming age inaugurated by Christ's return. We have assurance of eternal life now yet we experience the benefits of the Kingdom only in part.
Our King however left a very clear message in Matthew 28, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
