Oh no ... it finally happened (I suppose it was inevitable) ... I read something from John Piper that I disagree with. Who is the man in Romans 7? I'm with Warnock (and Virgo and Lloyd-Jones) on this one.

In other words is Piper saying sinning IS the normal Christian life?
Well Rick, I never thought that it would end up like this, but I definitely agree with Piper on this one. And I think that Warnock's discomfort with the tension between Romans 7 and Romans 8 almost demonstrates the point, rather than denying it.
But hey - I'm just happy to be on the respected theologian's side for once :P
Jonathan - yes, Warnock, Virgo, Lloyd-Jones, and I would say that this is a “description of life before and outside of Christ, but looked at from the perspective of life in the Spirit.”
