hobbes on worship

Hobbes writes ...
There can be no true worship of God without a theology of God. Without “actual thoughts” of Him, our worship has no objective focus. Without an objective focus we can so easily exaggerate the value of subjective feelings. We worship God because the revealed, objective truth about God shows Him to be worthy of praise. Therefore, truth about God is the essential fuel for worship. And, as our knowlege of God becomes more accurate and faithful to His true nature, the fire of worship grows ever more intense.
He is right!
