bible publishers sued

Somedays (actually nearly every day) I hate reading the news ...

'Gay' man sues Bible publishers

$70 million for emotional distress because homosexuality cast as sin ... read the rest.

The part where the Bible calls me a sinner, I don't like that.

Sue!

1) Frivolous lawsuits are the American get-rich-quick scheme. Hilarity ensues as long as you're not the sucker being sued.

2) WorldNetDaily blew their credibility with me years ago. This sounds like a natural for the type of hysterical Christian over-reaction usually associated with Christian Urban Legends.

3) Both the above are symptoms of a society that has beaten the survival game and can afford the trivial pursuits and trivial passions of the idle rich.

Maybe. But perhaps you're reading a lot into this that isn't there.

I've seen other news feeds pick this up, including the Wall Street Journal. I don't see the WSJ as hysterical.

Perhaps seeing this as symptoms of a decadent society is itself a symptom of idleness?
